PanelGear (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit PanelGear, get in touch, or use our software, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Information we collect

We collect information in two ways:

  • Information you give us — such as your name, email address, phone number, business name, and anything you include when you contact us, request a trial, or use the product.
  • Information collected automatically — such as your browser type, device, approximate location, and how you interact with our website, gathered through cookies and analytics tools.

  • respond to your enquiries and provide customer support;
  • send you service updates and, where you’ve opted in, product news;
  • understand how our website and product are used so we can make them better;

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and understand site usage. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended without them.

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use this website. Clarity captures how you interact with our pages — clicks, scrolling, mouse movement and page navigation — and combines it with data such as your browser, device and approximate location to produce heatmaps and playback of anonymised browsing sessions. This helps us find what’s confusing or broken and fix it. Text you type into forms is masked and is not captured. Microsoft uses this data in line with the Microsoft Privacy Statement. You can opt out of this and other website analytics by enabling your browser’s “Do Not Track” or tracking-protection setting, or by blocking cookies for this site.

Sharing your information

We don’t sell your personal information. We only share it with trusted service providers who help us run our business (for example, hosting, analytics and email delivery), and only so they can perform those services for us. We may also disclose information where required by law.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including access controls and encryption in transit. Some of our providers may store data outside New Zealand; where they do, we take steps intended to ensure your information remains protected to a comparable standard.

How long we keep it
