Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 August 2026
PanelGear (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit PanelGear, get in touch, or use our software, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
Information we collect
We collect information in two ways:
- Information you give us — such as your name, email address, phone number, business name, and anything you include when you contact us, request a trial, or use the product.
- Information collected automatically — such as your browser type, device, approximate location, and how you interact with our website, gathered through cookies and analytics tools.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- provide, operate, support and improve our software and website;
- respond to your enquiries and provide customer support;
- send you service updates and, where you’ve opted in, product news;
- understand how our website and product are used so we can make them better;
- keep our service secure and meet our legal obligations.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and understand site usage. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended without them.
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use this website. Clarity captures how you interact with our pages — clicks, scrolling, mouse movement and page navigation — and combines it with data such as your browser, device and approximate location to produce heatmaps and playback of anonymised browsing sessions. This helps us find what’s confusing or broken and fix it. Text you type into forms is masked and is not captured. Microsoft uses this data in line with the Microsoft Privacy Statement. You can opt out of this and other website analytics by enabling your browser’s “Do Not Track” or tracking-protection setting, or by blocking cookies for this site.
Sharing your information
We don’t sell your personal information. We only share it with trusted service providers who help us run our business (for example, hosting, analytics and email delivery), and only so they can perform those services for us. We may also disclose information where required by law.
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including access controls and encryption in transit. Some of our providers may store data outside New Zealand; where they do, we take steps intended to ensure your information remains protected to a comparable standard.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to unsubscribe from marketing at any time. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
Third-party links
Our website may link to other sites we don’t control. We’re not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, so we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “last updated” date above. Significant changes will be made clear on this page.
